A Fine Arts/Elective Showcase

Please join our Fine Arts and Technology staff (and students) for a fun evening of music, drama, media presentations and crafting.

Activities will be ongoing between 5:30pm and 7:30pm. Hot dogs and a drink will be served (while they last).

If you and your student will be attending please use the attached form, fill out and have your student return it to their homeroom teacher ASAP, Mahalo!

infinite Campus Parent night

Accessing Infinite Campus Student Grades Through Parent Portal.

Date: Thursday, September 14, 2017

Time: 6:00 - 7:00 pm

Where: Ian Intermediate School, Room J-204

This parent night is designed to provide support for parents to set up their parent portal accounts. Step by step instructions will be provided as well as computer assistance as needed.

What to Expect

In this workshop, you’ll learn about the importance of literacy and how you can measure your child’s reading proficiency through using the Lexile® Framework for Reading. You will also be introduced to your free Home Edition account where you will see how, as a parent, you can impact your child’s Lexile score and overall reading capacities through the powerful tools and features available for your use.

What You Will Need:

Your child’s school will provide the necessary equipment for the live session. You’ll just need to bring your enthusiasm for your child’s success!

Smarter Balance (SBA) tests info

Make sure your students are prepared for the upcoming Smarter Balance Assessments. The Hawaii DOE has prepared a resource webpage with info and links to help you and your student be prepared.

Parent night for SBa assessments

What to expect: The Smarter Balanced Assessments (SBA) in Mathematics and English Language Artsare aligned to the Hawaii Common Core Standards, and designed to measure whether students are "on track" for readiness in college and/or career. SBA replaced the Hawaii State Assessment in math and reading. These are mandatory assessments given to students in grades 3-8 and 11.

Bring your child and participate in a hands-on practice test that allows you to experience the rigor of the state assessments. Refreshments will be provided.

The State of Hawaii Dept of Education has given the schools in the last few days a new acceptable use policy for digital devices and use of network and the Internet. Unfortunately the one that you signed during registration has been replaced with this new form which your student will be bringing home. For your student to use digital devices, access the network and Internet the form signed by the student and parent/guardian must be returned and on file at the school first. We're sorry for the inconvenience this was a last minute change in policy.
